HACC administers two programs that specifically provide assistance for veterans.
The VASH (Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing) Program is an Intergovernmental Agency Agreement between HUD and the Veterans Administration to provide rental assistance and case management services to homeless veterans.
The US Department of Veterans Affairs case management team provides referrals to HACC who provides an available VASH voucher to the veteran. A condition of eligibility for a VASH voucher is mandatory participation in case management services. The VASH voucher must be terminated if the veteran refuses, without good cause, to participate in required case management services.
If you are a homeless veteran and interested in receiving a HUD-VASH voucher, please contact the VA Illini Healthcare System at 217-304-1408.
