Bright Future Internship Program

Description
The Housing Authority of Champaign County is committed to expanding opportunities for our community's young people. HACC's Bright Futures Internship Program helps graduates of our YouthBuild program gain work experience and further their education through opportunities in partnership with HACC's Local Self-Sufficiency Program.

Examples of Duties
The Bright Futures Internship Program work involves but is not limited to, clerical, maintenance, and junior positions within the YouthBuild Program. These are entry-level positions requiring significant contact with the public. The Internship Program shall be for a minimum of 90 days and a maximum period of twelve months. Written performance reviews will be provided on a quarterly basis so that YouthBuild staff can monitor intern performance. 

Essential Qualifications 

  • Evidence of successful completion of YouthBuild program.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility.
